Music / Audio Visual / Microform Room

The Music/AV/Microform Room contains our audio and visual recordings, as well as our microform collection of newspapers, journals and other sources.
These collections are searchable through our online catalogue. There is a computer available outside the Music/AV/Microform Office for searching the online catalogue. For access to the collection outside of regular office hours, a telephone with a direct line to the Circulation Desk is provided.
Music/AV/Microform Room Features:
- 5 listening stations (3 CD, 2 LP/cassette)
- 2 viewing stations (TV with VCR and/or DVD player)
- 7 microform viewing stations
- 1 dual reader/printer for microfilm/fiche (located in the Music/AV/Microform Office. Copies are $0.10 per page)
- 1 reader/printer for microfiche (uses the same card system as the library's photocopiers ($0.10 per page))
- 1 dual microfilm/fiche microfilm/fiche (uses the same card system as the library's photocopiers ($0.10 per page))
Borrowing Guidelines:
Items you may borrow (with valid ID):
- CDs (3-day loan) – limit of 3 at a time (unless you are borrowing Aebersolds - you may borrow 3 CDs + 3 Aebersolds). Note: Some exceptions apply.
- "Private Viewing" videos and DVDs (1-day loan) – limit of 1 at a time
- Reserve items (3-hour loan) – limit of 3 at a time

- All microform
- Videos and DVDs with performance rights *
- Records *
- Audio cassettes *
- Reserve material
* Faculty may borrow these items for classroom use, but must complete a Films shown form whenever a film covered under the Audio Cine or Criterion licenses is shown in class. To determine whether a video can be shown in class, please read our Screening Videos in Class section.
