The New Search Tool
Here is a brief introduction to our new search interface, WorldCat.

Introducing the new and improved catalogue interface for finding books, CDs, ebooks, articles, and more at St. FX
To get to our new interface, click on Books, Articles and More in the Quick Links box on our website.
When you search, you will be searching all libraries, worldwide, but St. FX holdings will appear first, at the top of the list, followed by holdings from other Novanet libraries. This is a new feature and one we are sure will help you find St. FX material faster while at the same time expanding the scope of your research to an international level.
After searching, you can refine your results by using the left-hand refine options. This refining feature is also new, but it is a lot like other familiar search tools that can be found in databases and on website like Amazon. You can refine by author, format, year, and so on.
Once you find the item you’re looking for, click on the title and you will see the full record with the call number, status (in or out of library), and the location.
One difference you may notice is that articles now show up in your results list. The new catalogue interface does not search all of our databases, so you will want to search your field’s databases as well, independently. Nevertheless, the articles resulting in the catalogue search may also be useful.
