Computer Lab

There are # computers available for student use in the library.

Location

The computers are located on the first floor (see maps).

Technology

The computers are Mac desktops that are set up as dual-boot machines. You can start-up the computer in Mac or Windows based on your own personal preference. To switch operating systems, you need to hold down the option key on the keyboard while the computer is booting.

Printers

There are 3 printers available in the library. There are 2 black and white printers, and 1 colour printer.

• LIBLAB01 (b&w) - located beside the lab computers
• LIBLAB02 (b&w) - located in the reference area
• LIBLAB01 (colour) - located beside the lab computers

Current student printing costs:

• Black & White, single sided - $0.05 cents a page
• Black & White, double sided - $0.09 cents a page
• Colour, single sided - $0.44 cents a page

To print wirelessly, from your computer to one of the library printers, follow either of these tutorials from TSG:

Scanners

There are 2 flatbed scanners available in the computer area for student use. For assistance, view TSG's scanning help file.

Guest Accounts

If you are not a current student, staff, or faculty member at StFX, but would like to use a library computer, you can use a guest account to log on to a machine. To obtain a guest account, visit the circulation desk.

Assistance

These labs are operated and maintained by the StFX Technology Support Group (TSG).
